The silver coin struck by the NEW ZEALAND MINT celebrates the video game Street Fighter II™. Street Fighter™ is a 1987 arcade game by Capcom and the company's first competitive fighting game. In 1991, the second part "Street Fighter II™" appeared on the market, which paved the way for a multitude of sequels. The colorful motive of the coin features the main characters Ryu and Ken in the middle of a fight. Ryu, the martial artist dressed in white, is depicted performing the special attack Hadoken. The original logo of the arcade game is features above the fighting scene. The reverse shows the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as well as the denomination and the year of issue. The silver proof coin is housed inside a specially designed box, shaped like an arcade cabinet from the 90s. Also included in the delivery is a certificate of authenticity from the New Zealand Mint.
