Two icons of numismatic art, the British lion and the American eagle, come together on a new coin design created through a collaboration between Beth Zaiken, a member of the United States Mint’s Artistic Infusion Program since 2019, and The Royal Mint’s Product Design team. This reverse design skilfully brings these two icons together in one harmonious composition that will be of interest to coin enthusiasts both in the US and the United Kingdom.
Beth Zaiken is an award-winning museum artist and designer known for her science art, wildlife reconstructions and natural history murals. Her innovative designs for the US Mint include a striking bucking horse for the obverse of the 2021 American Liberty $100 gold coin.
