Piero Della Francesca, also known as Pietro Borghese, was an Italian painter of the early Renaissance. Among his most famous works are "Flagellation of Christ", "The Baptism of Christ" and "Pala Montefeltro". In addition to his art, he was also working as a mathematician and art theorist. The motive of the coin depicts a part of his painting "Diptych of Federico da Montefeltro and Battista Sforza" from 1472/73, featuring the profile of the Duke of Urbino, surrounded by the inscriptions "SAN MARINO", "PIERO della FRANCESECA", "1492" and "2022". The commemorative coin is delivered in an illustrated blistercard.
