The reverse of each coin features a striking detailed design of a majestic horse rearing upright, with its mane flowing beautifully in the wind. The imagery is struck onto a rectangular pure silver surface and includes the inscription ‘2026’, The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark and the text "YEAR OF THE HORSE".
The obverse of each coin bears Dan Thorne's portrait of His Majesty King Charles III. Also included are the inscriptions “CHARLES III AUSTRALIA,” the coin’s weight, purity, and monetary denomination.
