The reverse side features the so-called "Big Five" – the largest and most famous representatives of African wildlife: the buffalo, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, and lion. The animals are arranged over a silhouette of the African continent, with the year 2025 marked nearby. On the obverse side, the coat of arms of the Republic of The Gambia is engraved: two lions hold a shield with an axe and hoe – symbols of the country's agricultural roots.
